Review: Joshua II

Joshua II Joshua II by T.G. Ayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. The whole Valkyrie series is just amazing...the story is so easy to read, the characters are all well developed, and this is actually a book about an alternate POV from one of the secondary characters in this series. With this book, we get to find out what thoughts were going through Joshua's head while he goes through his own share of adventures around the same time as the MC, Bryn, is experiencing hers in the earlier novels in this series. If you are a fan of YA fantasy with mythological ties, you will love this book.

Review: Time Shift: Kitsune and Shaman novel

Time Shift: Kitsune and Shaman novel Time Shift: Kitsune and Shaman novel by J.L. Weil
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was short enough to finish in only a few sessions, but is still packed with adventure, danger and light humor and whimsicality to earn it's place in the Nine Tails series. Karina and Devyn face new challenges in this book...meet new creatures, explore new worlds...and definitely leaves you guessing about the outcome along the way. I'd recommend this book to readers that enjoy YA fantasy with a touch of humor and romance.

Review: Vampire Huntress

Vampire Huntress Vampire Huntress by Rosemary A. Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Get ready to meet a girl that thinks she is a complete monster, as a vampire/angel hybrid that was left behind and forced to live in the human world as a baby...and the darkly charming angel that shows up on her doorstep. This book is packed with humorous quips, a fair share of adventure and danger, and follows a general theme of darkness throughout the story. If you are fans of vampires, angels, fantasy, and international themed snarkiness, you should definitely read this book.

Review: Hidden Magic

Hidden Magic Hidden Magic by Stephany Wallace
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Just a heads up for potential readers, you may feel a bit put off by the opening segments of this book. I nearly gave up on it because I felt I couldn't 'get into' the story line. Thanks goodness I kept reading!

This story is magical, enlightening, whimsical and just plain tugs at your emotions in many sections. Druids and magic are definitely the main focus in most parts of this book, and the descriptions used by the writer make the environment in this book so easy to picture. Simply beautiful. I'd recommend this book to readers that are fans of magic and druids, and enjoy the idea of picturing fantastic world views in their minds.

Review: Dragon School: Dark Night

Dragon School: Dark Night Dragon School: Dark Night by Sarah K.L. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. This has definitely been the darkest and one of the most potentially dangerous edition in the Dragon School series thus far. Amel and a cast of characters that we all view as important by now have all been captured and are being held prisoner, including the ruler known only as the Dominar.

In this episode, Amel must help add to a plan to save everyone...both the great and the small...before the danger presented on this dark night comes down on them all. I'd strongly recommend this book (and this series, you don't want to miss a minute of Amel Leafbrought's adventures with her intelligent and occasionally snarky dragon, Raolcan) for fans of dragons, adventure, YA fantasy and short reads.

Review: Child of Water: A Lunar Medallion Short

Child of Water: A Lunar Medallion Short Child of Water: A Lunar Medallion Short by Lela Grayce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this story. Elara manages to escape some of the most dreadful relationships in her life. She's heard all the stories, but when it's discovered that Kelpies are actually able to help humans find their better half, instead of killing the victims that discover their presence like the old wives tales proclaim, it turns out romance may not be that far away. The characters were all wonderful in this story, and I loved the layering of worlds presented here. I can't wait to read the next edition of this story, and I'd recommend it to lovers of fantasy, water creatures, and those that believe romance can be discovered in unforeseen realms.

Review: Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice Fire & Ice by Michele Barrow-Belisle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this book. In this series Lorelei discovers mystical talents, and is introduced to a whole new world. I'll admit there were a few spots where I lost interest and had to take breaks from my reading, but every time I returned I found I enjoyed the story a bit more. I'd recommend this book for readers that are fans of fantastical coming of age books that include magic, young love and the possibility of danger.

Review: Their Own Time: a trio of time travel novelettes

Their Own Time: a trio of time travel novelettes Their Own Time: a trio of time travel novelettes by Jessica Wayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this set of novelettes. These are all short time travel romances where three different women managed to escape dangerous/harmful/lonely situations and found their true loves in a past era.

These stories all contain a bit of minimal steam, but reveal how discovering your other half can bring out the best in you. I would recommend this set to anyone that is a fan of sci-fi, time travel, lighter romance and HEA endings.

Review: Charmed: a Cinderella Reverse Fairytale book 3

Charmed: a Cinderella Reverse Fairytale book 3 Charmed: a Cinderella Reverse Fairytale book 3 by J.A. Armitage
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved reading this book. This is the third in a Cinderella fairytale retelling, told from a gender swapped POV, and it's definitely captivating. The characters are all wonderful, and if you have read the previous two books, then you know what parts they play in this tale. The 'kidnapping' of Charm that ended in book 2 continues in this book, and Cynder does everything he can (which includes involving many of his Magi friends) to help protect the love of his life. If you are a fan of magic and twisted fairytale retellings, you should definitely check this series out.

Review: The Silver Six: Uncanny Valley, Book 2

The Silver Six: Uncanny Valley, Book 2 The Silver Six: Uncanny Valley, Book 2 by C.A. Gray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. It involves a group of higher intellect and with higher purposes in mind...along with a variety of robots, cyborgs and the like. You get to experience the good times with this crew, along with the bad...and even ride the roller coasters known as jealously, adoration and love. This book will definitely keep you guessing, and the characters are a delight to get to know. If you are a fan of sci-fi that involves robotics, you will love this series, though I'd recommend starting with book 1.

Review: The Fake Boyfriend

The Fake Boyfriend The Fake Boyfriend by Anita Oh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Lucy tries to hold back the dangerous power she has ready access to after her father's involvement in the previous book...but her friends and pack members are there by her side to help her through the experience.

When Tennyson's obnoxious uncle is introduced on campus, things go awry with the young pack members, and this story crescendos towards an ending I didn't really see coming. I can't wait to devour book 8 in this series!

If you are fans of YA paranormal books and/or werewolves, you should definitely read this series.

Review: The Time Loop

The Time Loop The Time Loop by Anita Oh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. The premise is a little out there, and if you enjoyed the movie Groundhog Day, with the constant repetition of the same day over and over...you may find it easier to wrap your head around the punishment that Lucy's dad has cooked up for her in this story. If you are a fan of YA paranormal literature and werewolves, I'd recommend adding this book to your TBR list.

Review: The Love Potion

The Love Potion The Love Potion by Anita Oh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Lucy overhears a conversation among her classmates, and lunges in to rescue Tennyson. When she wakes to discover it has erased her bond with Tennyson...she turns to pack members and tries to figure a way out of the state she finds herself in now.

She discovers that she has feelings she can't fight for another pack member...and things have never been more confusing. This book is ideal for YA readers that enjoy reading about the lighter side of the Paranormal fiction world, and any werewolf fans are welcome to give it a try as well. I'm really enjoying this series so far.

Review: Dragon School: Prince of Dragons

Dragon School: Prince of Dragons Dragon School: Prince of Dragons by Sarah K. L. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I so love this series! I really enjoyed reading this edition, and it may be a bit calmer in feel compared to the others in the series, but there is a lot that happens in this book as well. Amel is able to overcome every hardship that hits her head on, and Raolcan (her purple dragon) has just the attitude to help aid her in continuing on despite the hurdles that fall into her path. If you are a fan of dragons and YA fantasy, you should definitely invest in this series ASAP!

Review: Asylum

Asylum Asylum by Francesca Vance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.7 star rating

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters are great, and the story line is solid. Kassi grows up thinking she is a failed witch with her adoptive family, but discovers she is actually a werewolf. She meets up with the alpha twins that accept her into their pack, and feels she's found her proper place in the world. With a bit of adventure, danger, and heart wrenching occurrences ... get ready for a shifter story that may take you by surprise. I'd recommend this book to fans of the paranormal, reverse harem novels, and werewolves.
