Review: Twisted Betrayal

Twisted Betrayal Twisted Betrayal by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think I enjoyed reading this book. I actually give it 4.5 stars or so....mainly because, despite the well crafted creation of this unique literary world, this book is still somewhat of a hard read to stomach. The bullying in this book is epic, and most women included in this story suffer brutality only because they are broken by the 'elite' men in their lives. Romance is involved, and there are several steamy scenes, but prepare yourself to experience hardship and defeating loss right alongside the females in this story.

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the last book in the DC series, and I enjoyed reading this edition almost as much as the earlier novellas in this set. I'm a little sad to see the tales of Tor and Saboraak come to a close, but I'm expecting great things from future series by this author.

Review: Broken

Broken Broken by S.J. West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. If you are a fan of fantasy novels that include angels and vampires, you'll enjoy reading this book. This story has a with strong female lead that has overcome a troubled past, and a male Watcher that just can't seem to forgive himself. I liked the fact this story used the mention of some characters inspired by religion, but used them to tell a story, to attempt to 'take me to church.'

*note* Jess talks about her uncle abusing her when she was younger, though she doesn't go into detail about it. If this is a possible trigger for you, you may want to skip this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. When Dariah attempts to take on a job, with a hot prince she has a past with close on her tail, she never expected she'd find herself forming an odd bond with the nerdy professor that was also initially her intended target. If you enjoy vampire stories, you will enjoy reading this book. I picked it up to read it this morning, and couldn't put it down until I reached the last page. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the fourth book in the Alinthia series, and it includes plenty of action as the princess and her four protectors work together to try to defend the world she has grown up in (Earth) from utter destruction by forces of evil. This book also features plenty of steamy moments between Tori and her men as well, so fair warning if you try to avoid this type of literature. If you are a fan f Sci-fi and reverse harems, you will want to read this series (I recommend you start with book 1).

I really enjoyed reading this book. When a rock star escapes a threatening romance with a heavy-handed sports icon, she is surprised to discover more than one man is willing to step up to fill the void.

Review: Cruel Intentions

Cruel Intentions Cruel Intentions by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. The Elite families in this literary universe are all after power, even if it means throwing their children to the wolves for the sake of maintaining supreme power among their communities.

This book is high on the steaminess scale, and there are so many true identities being hidden in this book you might find it challenging to keep track of who turns out to be who by the end of the book. If you enjoy sexy stories set in dark and dangerous situations involving high school age individuals that seem to keep you guessing, this book is right up your alley.

Shadows and Sorcery: A Collection of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance Novels Shadows and Sorcery: A Collection of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance Novels by Heather Marie Adkins

I just finished reading A Cauldron of Ash by Dorothy Dreyer & Jenna Lee from this amazing collection. I flew though the pages because the characters are captivating and the story is so well written, you'll feel like you have to see what will happen next. It features a witch that falls in love with a vampire while attending a reform school, and is completely YA friendly!

Another great story featured in this collection is Natural Magic by Jen L. Grey and Nicole Kelley. This time an Alpha shifter lays claim to a witch, in a world where the intermingling of the two is simply unheard of. I really enjoyed reading this book. The writing drew me in from page one, and I found myself completely falling for the characters. In this new adult novel, Summer sets out to put an end to her 'chastity belt', and Ryan is the sexy boy-next-door with a body that just won't quit and a golden personality to match.

There are definitely quite a few steamy scenes in this book. If you're looking for a college age romance with a bit of humor and heat on the side, this novel is right up your alley.

The Man Behind the Fox: A Paranormal Shifter Romance Standalone Book The Man Behind the Fox: A Paranormal Shifter Romance Standalone Book by Amalia Altman

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a PNR that paints the picture of three factions (humans, shifters and witches), all communing in the same space and living alongside one another harmoniously - after at least one bad egg is removed. Cass helps a wounded animal to heal, and in the end learns about her roots and gains a familiar in the process. I really enjoyed reading this book. Alexis is the main character in this story, and she has inherited the family trait to see and feel ghosts. While she shares many of the negative traits that other heroines in similar books seem to share, I really liked the fact that she has managed to collect a group of male friends that are always willing to stand up for her - even though romantic encounters seems to be off the table with them by the end of book 1. Since I grew up in similar situation myself, I felt I could relate. It will be interesting to see where this story goes.

Review: Only Ever You

Only Ever You Only Ever You by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. From juvie to the stage, Ryder has managed to battle his dark past and is trying to land on his feet. Zeta is fighting a similar (yet terrifyingly different) darkness from her own past and working to come out on top. From the moment the glances of these two met from their teen years, they always knew there would never be anyone else to capture their hearts. Get ready for an emotional ride with this book.

Trigger warning: While this is mostly a love story about a couple that overcomes their past lives, keep in mind that many hard situations are dealt with here. Abuse of both parties start from an early age, and it also includes instances of substance abuse, near rape, and being forced to witness cruelty toward others. If any you are not comfortable reading books that contain any of these topics, you may want to pass this novel by.
