Review: Falling for the Feral Professor: A Paranormal Werewolf Romance Standalone Book

Falling for the Feral Professor: A Paranormal Werewolf Romance Standalone Book Falling for the Feral Professor: A Paranormal Werewolf Romance Standalone Book by Amalia Altman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Sparks fly when a mysterious substitute is called in to take another professor's place at a university after an undefined illness has taken hold. Emily and Lukas hit it off from the start, and it unfolds a whole new world for her in ways she hadn't thought possible before.

I personally really appreciated the fact that this author alludes to intimacy without actually putting it all out there in ways that might make a reader slightly uncomfortable. If you are a fan of paranormal romances, you will enjoy reading this book.

Review: A Bond of Swords and Sacrifice

A Bond of Swords and Sacrifice A Bond of Swords and Sacrifice by Karen Tomlinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is actually the final book in The Goddess and the Guardians series, and it is definitely action packed. If you are a fan of fantasy books with heart that promise to keep you on the edge of your seat, you will enjoy reading this series, and though this is the final book in the set, I still recommend you start with Book 1 (A Bond of Venom and Magic) and read this series in order. This book wrapped up the story perfectly, though I'm looking forward to reading future books released by this author.

Review: The Tainted

The Tainted The Tainted by Frost Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great unpredictable dystopian tale

I really enjoyed reading this book. Hazel starts out being sheltered in a position of moderate power, as the daughter that is expected to marry and produce more heirs in the founder's family line. She joins a group of acquaintances for a night of fun, and the nightmares begin. If you enjoy post-apocalyptic stories where miscommunication rears it's ugly head, then I recommend this book.

Review: Double-Sided Magic

Double-Sided Magic Double-Sided Magic by McKenzie Hunter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this book. I can't decide whether I genuinely found great value the story enclosed into these pages or not. I do like the fact magic is involved (in many forms), and there is a moderately sharp line drawn between the 'bad' elements and 'not so bad' ones....but the whole experience of reading it has left me wondering how I feel about it all. I plan to re-read this book soon to try to get a better handle on things, and maybe I will be able to post a more convincing review at that point and time.

If you are a fan of books about magical elements and the fae and humans attempting to live in a cross-culturally beneficial environment, you may want to give this book a try.

Review: Breakwater

Breakwater Breakwater by J.A. Armitage
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's the final book in a fairy tale retelling of the little mermaid. Get ready for an ending that you will not see coming. I would recommend this book to readers that are fans of twisted fairy tale retellings and the possibility of life at sea.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Pirates, vampires, curious hybrids of the two...there is so much mystery and adventure contained in these pages.

If you are a fan of fantasy tales that loom o'er the high seas, you will find this story gripping. Prepare to meet a strong-willed girl that cannot be 'turned' by the vampire pirate that purchased her from her father...and get ready for a page turner with an ending that leaves you craving more.

Review: Forgiving Keven

Forgiving Keven Forgiving Keven by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. Keven and Cheryl parted ways after an incident in high school that shattered the trust in their relationship. When he risks takes on a new job to help him keep tabs on Cheryl and protect her from any potential harm, danger looms around them both. If you're ready for a steamy romance that contains elements of danger and illegal activity, this book fits the bill. It contains many characters from other novels in The Kennedy Boys series, but can be read as a standalone in this set.

Review: Reaper of Wings

Reaper of Wings Reaper of Wings by Jen L Grey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. There is great character development in this book, and we get to see Christina realizing just what her potential truly is...but her full purpose in life is still a bit cloudy. She is surrounded by a cast of characters that range from helpful to dangerous, and sometimes it's hard to realize who is who until it's almost too late. If you enjoy fantasy stories that involve reapers and other supernatural creatures, you will enjoy the unpredictability that is this book.

Review: Be Your Savior

Be Your Savior Be Your Savior by Lizzie Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. In this edition, Jessie & Seth find ways to save each other, despite the fact they both have to deal with their own personal demons both individually and together.

If you are a fan of raw romance that really cuts to the heart of the relationship, you will enjoy reading this series. That being said, I strongly recommend you read these books in order. The development of these characters is amazingly well-crafted in each story, and you don't want to miss a detail.

Review: If I Come Back: A Paranormal Vampire Romance Standalone Book

If I Come Back: A Paranormal Vampire Romance Standalone Book If I Come Back: A Paranormal Vampire Romance Standalone Book by Amalia Altman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give this book about a 3.5 star rating.

I found this book a bit interesting at first, and enjoyed reading about Thomas's experiences traveling back in time to prevent the destruction of his wife's life, but around the end things got really rushed and I felt a few things may have been left out.

The epilogue is only available online, a fact I'm not really fond of, since I prefer have the books I own delivered to me in completed form.

There is a very steamy scene that finishes up this book (the last scene before it drops off and gives you a website to find the epilogue), so I'd really only recommend this read to mature readers that enjoy time travel romances and witches.
