Review: Only Ever You

Only Ever You Only Ever You by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. From juvie to the stage, Ryder has managed to battle his dark past and is trying to land on his feet. Zeta is fighting a similar (yet terrifyingly different) darkness from her own past and working to come out on top. From the moment the glances of these two met from their teen years, they always knew there would never be anyone else to capture their hearts. Get ready for an emotional ride with this book.

Trigger warning: While this is mostly a love story about a couple that overcomes their past lives, keep in mind that many hard situations are dealt with here. Abuse of both parties start from an early age, and it also includes instances of substance abuse, near rape, and being forced to witness cruelty toward others. If any you are not comfortable reading books that contain any of these topics, you may want to pass this novel by.

Review: The Scorpio Races

The Scorpio Races The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really did enjoy reading this book. Granted, I'll admit I expected to get something a little different out of this book when I first picked it up, but I am glad I was able to explore a new type of mythology with water horses in the world created here. If you enjoy YA fantasy and you are a fan of horses, you will probably enjoy reading this book.

Review: The Prophecy of Shadows

The Prophecy of Shadows The Prophecy of Shadows by Michelle Madow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love how the author combines teenage drama, witchcraft, elemental magic and mythological tie-ins for this book. I've already read the full set at least once, but it was nice to revisit the first edition in this book along with my book club. I'll most likely re-read the other books in this series fairly soon when I find free time in my reading schedule. This is a great series.

Review: After Dead: What Came Next in the World of Sookie Stackhouse

After Dead: What Came Next in the World of Sookie Stackhouse After Dead: What Came Next in the World of Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I mildly enjoyed reading this book. It is basically an 'after' picture of what happens to most of the characters featured in the 'Southern Vampire Mysteries' series...ie. 'Sookie series', both great and small.

It touches on the highs and lows in each characters life after the final pages of this series ended with book 13. If you are picking it up because you are craving another solid plotline (or any plotline at all), then you will be sorely disappointed.

This is ONLY a summary of what has happened to each character in the series after the series itself came to an end.

PLEASE do NOT try to make this book into something it was never intended as. I personally didn't have many questions about what happened to each person after the last book ended, but from what I gather, many other readers did. This is a book of summaries that answers all of the questions asked by other readers.
